Flight out is delayed. Have a backup flight in case.

Planes are amazing things. They fly. As a younger man I was thrilled to learn about aerodynamics and how a plane's wing creates lift. Still fascinating.

"Modern" air travel with all the bonuses of delays and "food" has nullified much of the excitement.

But not all of it.

I don't pay any attention should there be public criticism when the McDonnell-Douglas 80 or 90 series pass overhead and I'm gaulking with my mouth hanging open.

This giant tube filled with people and luggage and those tiny wings on the side and those microscopic jets way there to the back.....
