A slow change

This building sat abandoned for more than two decades. Right there by the Harlem platform. I've had it in and out of my sight, on and off, for many years. This snap does it no justice. Its a beautiful building. It hung empty, soaked, rotting, a shell. It's good to see it get some love.

I took a second snap that framed this building and retained this view nicely but decided to go with this one. I like this snap better because of the brownstone peeking in on the right. Both a beautiful building in its own right but that panel it sits in as created by the column creates a view that makes the brownstone so separate and fleeting... Almost receding from the snap. Receding in space and time.

Great view - but since it hasn't any Hollywood actor coming out of rehab or a politician exiting a whorehouse,it'll never make the cover of People....

Geometry Boy here would have dropped the POV just a bit - enough so that the projecting edge of the platform pillar plinth would match the edge of the roof....
