Paul and I headed out to go see the Lotus temple and walked through and around a nearby park. Mere steps from the hotel gates and we are in the midst of poverty. There's a tiny tent village here. Literally naked children playing. Filthy but seemingly happy. Across the seemingly war torn street is a small group of adults and children begging. One little girl runs up to us, tugging at my sleeve. She's beautiful.

It's unbearable.

We plow along and head down the road towards the park and the temple. We're walking east.

Here's a link to a Google map of the basic route I took. I'm adding blue markers along the route to show some of the sites where I took snaps. If you click on the blue markers they will show you the names I gave them. Read roughly left to right from the hotel towards the temple. Further to the lower right is a blue marker for the Kaplan India office. More on that later.

The park is clearly a work in progress. There are Metro stations being built/excavated all over the city. One is here. Earth is turned up everywhere. The park has large tracks with flowers and trees that are lovely. Other areas are just dirt pits. The park is nearly empty but for some older children playing cricket.

We walk through most of the park and this is a shot looking back towards the hotel.

The hotel is nearly dead center in the distance, the tan set of buildings two to the right of that green glass office tower. The actually hotel is the shorter tan building behind the taller tan building.
