Taxi ride into old Delhi

The hotel has a deal. You get a taxi for 4.5 hours for about $10. He'll take you anywhere in the city. We were very jet-lagged but honestly how could we say no? So off we go in the taxi and immediately are in the thick of it.

Traffic zooms in and around us once again. Especially the smaller motorcycles... Whole families riding them. Mom, Dad, two kids all jammed in there. Though I didn't capture an example here of four seated at once often the ladies would be sitting side saddle like this.

Wow.

A little further along Paul notices and I was just able to capture a couple guys riding elephants.

As we got closer to town we saw more and more people lining the streets selling books. Our driver noted that we were now approaching the market of old Delhi and that Sunday was traditionally the day people would come and sell books. Block after block of huge crowds. Hundreds of thousands of books. That many people too.

If it's $10 for a taxi, how much for a half-day on an elephant?

EVERYBODY is going to want to know this....

While slower, you have absolutely NO traffic to fear....unless those buses are heavier than they look.
